Are you spiritually prepared for the Communist Takeover?

Updated: Dec 16, 2021

My wife and I used to watch a show called Doomsday Preppers on NatGeo. Each episode followed a family preparing for a civilization-ending event such as the collapse of the world economic system or the eruption of a super volcano. These "preppers" accumulated and stored all the essentials needed to physically survive just about any crisis. I guarantee none of them sweated the Great Toilet Paper Shortage of 2020 or the recent gas crisis. They were prepared. Materially at least.

As Catholics, and Christians more generally, our primary concern should not be on our material needs such as food, water, fuel, etc., but on our spiritual needs. Sure, we need to eat to survive, but as our Lord told the devil, "Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." After all, what good is it to live a long, healthy life with a full belly only to die the second death, perishing in the flames of Hell? You might have a bunker under your house with enough food, toilet paper, and guns to equip a company of Marines, but in the end none of that will matter if you are not spiritually prepared.

In the chaotic world we live in a catastrophic event could come from just about anywhere, but the one that I want to focus on in this article is a Communists takeover of America. Breitbart recently reported an open letter signed by over 120 retired generals and admirals warning of just that. The letter stated in part: "Our nation is in deep peril. We are in a fight for our survival as a Constitutional Republic like no other time since our founding in 1776. The conflict is between supporters of Socialism and Marxism vs. supporters of Constitutional freedom and liberty."
