Persevere!

This is Day 24 of my 40 Day Lenten Blog.

"But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved." Matthew 24:13.

We are all going through a rough time right now. Everyone knows that. And it's likely to only get worse before it gets better. The trials we will face in the not-too-distant future will most likely make the trials we face today seem like a minor inconveniences by comparison. But do not fear that future, but rather rejoice in the opportunity it presents.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." James 1:2-4.

We cannot persevere without trials. Our faith cannot increase unless it is tested. So accept each trial as an opportunity to persevere, increase your faith, and make God proud of you. Demonstrate to others the faith and trust you have in the Lord, even when times are bad. That is how we will not only be saved ourselves, but will save many others as well.

Today's prayer: Lord, please help me to accept my trials with joy and to persevere to the end, that I might be saved.
