Worship Jesus on the Cross
This is Day 11 of my 40 day Lenten Blog.
It's easy to worship Jesus when He is demonstrating His power. When Jesus walked on water, quieted the storm, and was transfigured, His disciples bowed down and worshiped Him. But where were they when He was arrested and crucified?
The Bible tells us that when Jesus returns He will return in glory coming down from the sky accompanied by an army of angels. At this awesome sight every knee shall bow and every mouth will declare Jesus is Lord. EVERY knee shall bow. Even those who spit on Him and deride Him now, shall bow down before Him and proclaim His lordship.
It's easy to worship Jesus when everybody loves Him. When He was feeding the multitudes and healing the sick and the crowds loved Him it was easy to be His disciples. When He was arrested, it was much harder. Jesus doesn't just want us to worship Him during the good times, but also during the bad. Jesus wants us to worship Him when it's hard to be a Christian, even when it is dangerous to be a Christian. We need to worship Him not only on His shining brilliant throne in heaven, but we also need to worship Him when He's nailed to the cross.
Today's prayer: Lord, please help me to love and worship You even when times get hard--even if faced with persecution and martyrdom. Amen.
